Poem

Man Proposes, God Disposes
Miroslav Kosek, Hanus Lowy

I.
Who was helpless back in Prague,
And who was rich before,
He's a poor soul here in Terezin,
His body's bruised and sore.

II.
Who was toughened up before,
He'll survive these days.
But who was used to servants,
Will sink into his grave.

I'm feeling sad about this. It's sad that this person needs to go through this. Even other thousand or millions of people need to go through this. It's really unfair. No one should be treated horribly. Everyone wants to have a happy life. The people that were in the holocaust, they wanted to be set free and have a happy life.

  1. I love yours! The colors are so pretty. I see two people, looks like they're limping. Like they've been wounded. Why do you feel grey is a sad color? My favorite line is "will sink into his grave." It explains that the person will die.

  3. I like the drawing and very creative using your computer to do this. I really like how you used the comouter and put an amazing design in it. The poem is like very self explanatory but its also deep. Its deep how it Started bad with this man and it kelt on going until the man was no more. How long did it took you to make this?

  4. Your butterfly looks nice. I like how you used black to represent the feeling of darkness. I see that on your butterfly it has like a person bending over what does that mean? After reading this poem it makes me feels like when the child got to the camp everything changed for him and before he went to the camp he was a better person. On your thinglink you did a good job on explaining the colors you used for the poem, I agree with on choosing the color blue for when the text said " He'll survive these days"

  6. Nice butterfly. This poem makes me feel bad because of how it sounds like. What is happening there tho? If I had wrote about this poem I would have done a little more research about it.

  7. You're butterfly is very beautiful. You drawn beautifully. It's sad that the Jews get hit everyday and get bruises from the hits.

  10. Your poem is great! I think you combine everything along with your poem really good. I really like how you have He's a poor soul here in Teresin." Which says after "Who was rich before." Reason why I colored it gold and black in the background which fades. This show sadness and gives you a feeling of "darkness". that is really good that is good that I really like.I think that you really explain every good.

  11. I like your butterfly it is very different than how others did theirs. I agree with you that it is sad to see anyone go through that. I feel like if you used a turquoise color it would fit better with hope because the blue in this is sort of dark. What app/website did you use to make this? I like the line "He'll survive these day." because it does mean hope.

  12. Your butterfly is absolutely beautiful. The colors, the drawing it just so beautiful. Why do you think that the author goes from before to an after affect? I think he goes from a before to an after affect because they wanted us to see what the Nazi has done to them before and after they took them away.

  13. Wow Jeannell! Your blog is so amazing, I really like the colors you used to represent your blog. I really like the idea of fading the colors. That really took some great artistic work, to go along with a lot of thought and creativity to do this. I wonder why you chose to put the small person under the fading colors. Is there a certain spread on you did this? I really think there is meaning, maybe that it fades so far into the person or the darkness and that's why the person is colored black? I don't know but I really think that this is unique. I really thought the color blue represents well to going to heaven as you said and black as the darkness of death. I really like how you set up your colors and great job on your blogpost!
